Connect Ethernet and power, follow the device's official onboarding, create the local Umbrel account and apply offered system updates.
Stage 3 of 7
Choose first-class pre-built support or a best-effort DIY installation, then install the Bitcoin Node app from umbrelOS.
Connect Ethernet and power, follow the device's official onboarding, create the local Umbrel account and apply offered system updates.
Use the official USB installer guide. Hardware support and some features are best-effort outside Umbrel Home.
Follow Umbrel's current Pi 5 guide with its specified power and storage requirements; do not reuse older Pi instructions.
Use Umbrel's current VM guide only when you understand virtual disks, networking and host uptime.
Use a 64-bit dual-core or better x86 system; Umbrel recommends stronger CPU and 8 GB+ RAM. Bitcoin node storage commonly needs 1 TB or more.
Follow the official Umbrel x86 guide and download its current USB installer. Flashing erases the selected USB drive.
Use Ethernet, boot the installer and identify the internal target by model and capacity.
Warning: Stop if you are not completely certain which disk will be erased.
Power off when instructed, remove installation media and boot from the installed disk.
Visit http://umbrel.local from the same network; use the device IP if local-name discovery fails.
Open the Umbrel App Store, select the official Bitcoin Node app, review storage requirements and install.
Keep the system powered and connected. Use the app's sync and peer indicators before connecting wallets.
